Institutional Best Practices

Institutional Best Practices

 Library Resources:-

Objective: In an era where digital resources often overshadow traditional learning methods, our aim is to rekindle students’ connection with the library. This initiative encourages staff and students to leverage library resources, stimulates interest in library visits, and introduces students to a wide range of books. With the increasing tendency to rely on easily accessible online summaries / materials, many students miss the depth of understanding that could be gained from thorough study of books. Our aim is to counteract this by fostering a hybrid engagement with library materials and digital resources.

Best Practices:

Library Utilization

Students are encouraged to use their free time productively in the library.

Library Hours

The library is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Orientation Program

New students receive a comprehensive orientation to familiarize them with library facilities and resources.

Newspaper/Magazines Circulation

The college library subscribes to four newspapers, and three magazines that have many benefits in keeping students informed about politics, economy, sports, trade, commerce, business, current world affairs, entertainment, lifestyle, science, tech, culture and many more and encouraging regular visits.

Evidence of Success

In beginning of the session, an orientation program was successfully conducted for first-year students, highlighting about the library services.

Challenges and Future Directions

Encouraging more frequent library visits remains a challenge. Future efforts will focus on developing an e-library to enhance accessibility. This enables the students to explore a wider range of topics and materials.

Green and Clean Campus Initiative

Objective: The Green and Clean Campus initiative promotes eco-friendly practices and aims to create a cleaner, more sustainable campus. This approach combines academic learning with environmental stewardship.

Best Practices:
  1. NSS Unit: The institution’s NSS Unit, which enroll over 50 students ( ½ Unit) annually, engage in activities such as tree planting and celebrating Environment Day.
  2. Annual Plantation Drives: Every July and August, the NSS Unit conduct tree planting activities, contributing to campus greenery.
Challenges and Future Directions: Sustaining the health of newly planted trees requires continuous care and attention.

SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation)
